Precision-machined parting line with minimal flash; mating surfaces ground & fitted.
Draft angle on inner core typically 1°–1.5° (slightly more on outer split cavity) for smooth release.
② Deep-Cavity Cooling – Inner Core & Outer Shell Separation
Cooling dominates cycle time (typically 90–150 sec for L=1000mm shafts):
Inner Core: Deep-drilled baffle + bubbler tube reaching full depth → uniform cooling from inside out.
Outer Split Cavity: Series or parallel water lines spaced 20–25mm from molding surface; BeCu (Beryllium Copper) inserts at thick rib/shaft ends.
Independent temperature control for core vs cavity to manage differential shrink and prevent ovality.
③ PP Shrinkage Compensation & Seal Groove Accuracy
Mold designed with PP shrinkage factor 1.6–1.8% isotropically compensated, verified by Moldflow if needed.
Upper & lower socket seal grooves (for Ø-ring EPDM gasket) machined to ±0.05mm tolerance to ensure watertight joint with adjacent shaft/base/cone.
Internal surface can be smooth (Ra ≤ 0.8μm) or with light texture if ribbed.
