Q: Why does a round rattan bin mold need split cavity and slides, unlike a plain round bucket?

A: The simulated cane/weave creates circumferential undercut reliefs. A simple two-plate open-close mold would lock the part on the core. We design a two-half split cavity with 4–8 small angled slides or a collapsing split-ring to withdraw the woven relief before the main halves open — allowing clean demolding without tearing the textured surface.

Q: What gate do you recommend — bottom center pin-point or rim submarine gate?

A: For best fill symmetry on a round body and minimal weld lines, we prefer a three-plate mold with bottom-center pin-point gate (auto-degating). If the customer's press lacks three-plate capability, we design a submarine gate on the inner top flange, hidden from the rattan outer face.
