What Is a Round Ball Rattan Flower Pot Mould?
A Round Ball Rattan Flower Pot Mould is a specialized tool designed to create decorative spherical planters that mimic natural materials like rattan, wicker, or bamboo. The mold structure is fundamentally different from a standard pot mold:
Split Cavity (Two-Half / Multi-Slide) — Because the ball is round and covered in texture, it cannot be stripped straight off a core. The cavity splits into 2, 3, or 4 segments (slides) that retract radially to clear the undercut texture.
Rattan / Wicker Texture — The outer cavity surface is not smooth. It is EDM-machined with a cane pattern and then acid-etched to create a realistic woven look (VDI 30–42 standard).
Deep Spherical Core — The inner core is a full hemisphere or sphere, requiring deep-hole drilling for cooling and precise draft control.

Applying texture to a spherical surface increases friction during demolding. Hidden Submarine Gate on Inner Flange or Base
To preserve the rattan texture on the outer surface, the gate must be invisible. We use a submarine gate (latent gate) located on the inner rim of the pot opening or at the bottom center (three-plate mold). The gate shears cleanly and leaves no scar on the texture.
Drainage Hole & Hanging Loop Details
Drainage holes are formed by tapered pins (sometimes water-cooled). Hanging loops are formed by small lifters or sliding inserts that retract after molding. We ensure these features do not interfere with the split-cavity motion.
